Tourism operators worry about smog problem

SONGKHLA, Oct 4 (TNA) - While several deep southern provinces are affected by the ongoing smog problem resulting from forest fire in Indonesia,Thai tourism business operators have expressed concern and asked committee members of the four countries to solve the crux on a sustainable basis. Yuthachai Soonthornrattnavate, president of the Association of Domestic Travel said committee members of Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand have been appointed several years ago and are tasked with solving the forest fire problem in Indonesia should solve the problem on a permanent basis. He said several southern provinces in Thailand face the problem every year ,which causes negative impact to tourism industry of the country. Poor visibility could easily cause accidents both on road and at sea. (TNA)
