Tourists Flock to Thailand’s Tourist Destinations amid Cold Breeze

LOEI, October 19 (TNA) - As winter season has arrived in Thailand, several popular tourist destinations, especially those in the North and Northeast, are packed with tourists braving the cold weather to view and appreciate the beauty of nature. More tourists are seen especially during the weekend in the northeastern Loei province. Popular tourist destinations in Phu Rua, Chiang Khan and Phu Kradung districts in the province are packed with enthusiastic tourists. But the new tourist destination in Loei which is gaining popularity now is Phu Pa Poh which is situated at a wildlife conservation area in a village of Nong Hin district. It allows visitors to view another hill called Phu Hor which looks similar to Japan’s highest mountain Mount Fuji. Because of its close similarity, tourists called it the ‘Fuji of Loei’. In order to appreciate its beauty, visitors have to travel by small vehicle for a distance of about 1.5 kilometres and 900 metres above the seawater level. The fare is 60 baht per visitor. Upon reaching the top of Phu Pa Poh, tourists will be enable to view the beauty of nature in four directions, including the sun and the thick sea of fog. Resorts at popular destinations in Loei are now fully booked as tourists continue their stay to appreciate the stunning natural beauty as temperature in some areas of the province dropped to 13 Celcius early Sunday. At Khao Kradong which is an extinct volcano massif and over 265 metres above sea level in the northeastern province of Buri Ram, tourists can view a wooden bridge across the ancient extinct volcano and pay worship to Phra Suphattharabophit which is an important Buddha image of the province. It is expected that more than 300,000 visitors would tour the area during this winter season and several millions of baht would circulate there. Thousands of tourists are also seen at the royal Villa and the Mae Fah Luang Gardens of the late Princess Mother in the northernmost province of Chiang Rai to see and admire the beauty of flowers and plants which are usually seen in the West. Many of them also bought flowers and plants to decorate their house to welcome the upcoming X’ Mas and New Year festivals. (TNA)
