Traffic points system becomes effective on Monday

Manama, Feb. 7 (BNA): The General Directorate of Traffic (GDT)'s Director-General Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa said the Points System for Traffic Violations will become effectives on Monday, February 8. The points system applies to all Bahraini driving licenses as part of the General Directorate of Traffic (GDT)'s continuous efforts to ensure safety on the roads and to curb the violation of traffic rules. The Director-General urged all drivers and road users to comply with traffic regulations to avoid accountability, noting the possibility of benefiting from the online services offered via the E-Government Portal to find out about the number of points counted for each violator, wishing safety to all road users. The new system is similar to the points systems for traffic violations as applicable in many countries in the region and around the world.
