TREATMENT LAB FOR CHILDREN WITH HEART DISEASES OPENS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A latest hi tech laboratory has been installed at the Children’s heart diagnosis and treatment unit of the National Health Center for Mother and Children. The laboratory, facilitated by caterer angiographic equipment from Siemens AG, is the seventh in Asia hi tech lab for children’s treatment. The lab, funded by two billion Togrog from the PM's budget package, enables Mongolian doctors to run detailed diagnosis and inter-vasal operations. The Premier mentioned that during his time as a president of Tuul Rotary Club in 2007-2008 he sent 30 children suffer from birth heart defects to S.Korea for surgeries, and that some 300 children were treated abroad this way. "Now that we have the technology, we can perform the diagnosis and operations that cost us a fortune before, in our own country," said the Premier. He instructed the center to train personnel and improve their skills. The center has been sending their staff for trainings to the USA, S.Korea and Japan. In a few days after a full commission of the lab, 11 children have received treatment, six have had inter vasal operations.
