"Tripadvisor" names top 10 most popular temples in Thailand

BANGKOK, July 20 (TNA) - "Tripadvisor.com", the world's biggest tourist attraction website, has unveiled its list of Thailand's top 10 most popular temples, recommended by travelers worldwide. The Thai temples were recommended for their beauty, peacefulness, and impressive and attractive scenery. Coming in the first place, Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimolmangklaram Rajwaramahaviharn, also known as Wat Pho in the Thai capital Bangkok, is one of the oldest and biggest temples in the capital, holding the 46-metre long reclining Buddha image. Tripadvisor said that “the sight and beauty of the Buddha image, as well as the art works on the walls and windows of the temple could put you in a short trance.” Other temples recommended by tourists are Wat Arun Rajawararam Woramahaviharn (Wat Jaeng) in Bangkok, and Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) also in the capital, Wat Phra Tat Doi Suthep in the northern Chiang Mai province, Wat Trimittr Wittayaram Woraviharn in Bangkok, Wat Saket Rajworamahaviharn (Golden Mount Temple) in Bangkok, Wat Phra Yai on Samui island in the Thai south, Wat Jedi Luang Woraviharn in Chiang Mai, Wat Chalong on Phuket resort island, and Wat Singh Woramahaviharn in Chiang Mai.
