Tropical storms hit upper part of Thailand

BANGKOK, March 7 (TNA) - Thailand’s upper parts are forecast to face tropical storms, while the rest of regions in the country, including Bangkok, will encounter a thunder storm, strong wind and hail stone in certain areas today, according to an announcement issued the Meteorological Department. People, living in the northern and central regions are warned of danger from thunderstorm and lightning. They are advised to avoid open areas, big trees and unsecured billboards. The department said heavy rainfalls may cause flooding while farmers should find ways to prevent damages which may affect their produce. About 70 per cent of areas in Bangkok and outlying provinces are expected to experience heavy rainfalls and strong winds today. Minimum temperature in Bangkok is between 23 – 25 degrees Celsius while the maximum is projected between 32 – 35 degrees Celsius on Saturday. (TNA)
