TU wins almost 30 awards at int'l competition in Geneva

BANGKOK, April 19 (TNA) - Thailand-based Thammasat University has, again, brought fame to the nation by winning 28 awards from the 46th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva in Switzerland. TU Rector Assoc. Prof. Gasinee Witoonchart announced on Thursday that the country's second oldest university won the most awards at the international exhibition on innovations, held during April 11-15. Assoc. Prof. Gasinee stated that the TU Faculty of Engineering has grabbed a plaque of honor for the development of a program on the real-time automatic travel matching between personal cars and taxis, while the Faculty of Science and Technology has won an honorary gold medal from the development of a hydrographic survey ship remotely-controlled by a radio system and other 10 gold medals from its development of masterpieces, including an application on skin cancer screening through the microscope system on smart phones. Besides, the TU Faculty of Science and Technology has won six silver and four bronze medals, including the development of a solar-powered multi-purpose three-wheel truck, as well as six special prizes from the five-day international competition in Switzerland. According to the TU rector, there were more than 1,000 innovative masterpices of over 40 countries contesting at the 46th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva. (TNA)
