Tunisian MPs back Bahrain

Tunis, Oct. 9 (BNA): Several members of the Tunisian parliament have expressed their support for the measures undertaken by Bahrain to protect its security and stability, saying they rejected the Iranian interference in the kingdom's internal affairs. They also affirmed Bahrain’s right to submit an official complaint to the United Nations in order to preserve the national and regional security and stability. This came as Bahrain’s parliamentary delegation, headed by Shura Council Member Dalal Al-Zayed, met Tunisian MPs. Al-Zayed valued the Tunisian parliamentary experience in terms of the depth of the assembly’s legislative system and the representation of Tunisian women, noting that the exchange of parliamentary experience will enrich the legislative work in line with each country’s nature. She gave an extensive explanation about the Kingdom’s constitutional amendments and laws, as well as the actions taken by the legislative branch and the government to achieve social and economic development. MP Abdulrahman Bumjaid expressed his hope that Tunisian MPs will visit Bahrain to be informed about its experience, highlighting their admiration for Bahrain’s parliamentary experience and His Majesty the King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's pioneering reforms.
