TURKEY DELIVERS AID TO FLOOD-HIT PAKISTAN

ISLAMABAD (A.A) - 12.08.2010 - Turkey sent another set of humanitarian aid to flood-hit Pakistan.
A Turkish cargo plane carrying nearly 35 tons of aid materials, including food packages, blankets, tents, cleaning and healthcare products, arrived in Islamabad late Wednesday.
Aid materials have been delivered to Pakistani Red Crescent officials.
Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Babur Hizlan said that Turkey's assistance to Pakistani people would continue. Turkey is expected to send two more planes carrying aid to Pakistan in the coming days.
Humanitarian aid will be distributed to flood victims in northwest part of Pakistan which was worst hit by monsoon rains.
Floods killed more than 1,600 people and forced nearly 14 million people from their homes over the past two weeks in Pakistan. Some 5 million homes were damaged or destroyed.
