Turkey' parliament speaker says country's EU target is clear

ANKARA (A.A) - Turkey's parliament speaker said on Wednesday that the country's European Union (EU) target was clear and obvious. Cemil Cicek said Turkey had to fulfil a certain legal, structural and mental change in order to become an EU member. "Turkey's EU target is clear and obvious," Cicek said at the AA News Academy in Ankara. Cicek said all political parties at the parliament had accepted the need for a new constitution, and agreed that this parliament should make the new constitution and the chairman of the compromise committee should be the parliament speaker. "We are working on this project, and we have launched a new constitutional process," Cicek also said.
