WE WON'T POINT GUN AT LIBYANS
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan cleared Turkey's position regarding the operations on Libya. He said, "we join efforts for humanitarian aid. We will never be the side which points gun at Libyan people."

NATO COMMANDER DUE IN TURKEY TO CONVINCE
Turkey did not approve the recent plan of NATO regarding Libya. NATO sent James G. Stavridis, the current Commander of the U.S. European Command (USEUCOM) and NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), to convince Turkey. He will be in capital Ankara tomorrow. Stavridis will inform Turkey's Chief of General Staff Gen. Isik Kosaner about Libya operation, and try to convince Ankara for handing over the command to NATO. Grandfather of Stavridis had been a Greek teacher in Turkey's western province of Izmir. Stavridis, in his book "Destroyer Captain" he wrote in 2008, claims that Greeks in Izmir were exposed to 'ethnic cleansing' in 1920s and his grandfather escaped first to Athens and then the U.S.

BACKSTAGE BARGAININGS
NATO countries agreed on weapon embargo against Libya over the sea and humanitarian assistance, however a decision could not be made on command in operation. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey would not point gun on Libyan people and noted, "we will not be spectator from tribune."
Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu was expected to give information to opposition parties on Wednesday, but Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and Peace & Democracy Party (BDP) refused the appointments. Republican People's Party (CHP) told government not to give permission to the operation.
The parliamentarians are expected to be given information at a secret session in the Parliament.

UNPERMITTED EQUIPMENT IN IRANIAN PLANE
The weapons and ammunition seized in a cargo plane belonging to Iran were stated to be banned equipment under the UN sanctions on Iran. As 7 people in the plane were detained, the plane was allowed to go to Iran without the equipment.
The plane was made to land at southeastern province of Diyarbakir as it was going to Syria via Turkey's air space.

CONFIDENTIAL DOCUMENT REVEALS FORMER MILITARY HEAD IN TURKEY WIRETAPPED JOURNALIST
Yasar Buyukanit, a former head of the Turkish military, has been revealed to have ordered wiretapping of a journalist. A confidential document -- carries initials of Buyukanit himself when he was the deputy chief of the Turkish General Staff back in 2001 -- includes the readout of four telephone conversations of Utku Cakirozer, a correspondent with the daily Milliyet back then, and appeals for the cancellation of the Cakirozer's press accreditation with the General Staff. "My accreditation was cancelled twice for no reason," Cakirozer says.

IRANIAN PLANE LEAVES AFTER SEIZURE OF WEAPONS, MUNITIONS
An Iranian plane left off Tuesday evening after Turkish officials impounded part of its cargo containing weapons and munitions. The Iranian plane was made to land last Saturday at an airport in Turkey's southeast while it was passing through the Turkish airspace en route to Syria. "The plane was cleared to take off for Iran after the seizure of the cargo banned under the UN sanctions on Iran," said an official with the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
