Turkey values Bahrain’s supportive stance

Manama, July 30 (BNA): Bahrain’s firm stance in support of Turkey’s security and stability was hailed. "Ankara highly values the stance of Bahrain and other countries in the region and the world which backed Turkey’s measures to maintain its security and stability", said Turkish Ambassador Hatun Demirer. She stressed strong bilateral relations binding Manama and Ankara, adding that measures were taken in her country under the banner of democracy. "We are delighted to see friendly countries stand by us and support our measures to maintain our security and stability", she told Bahrain News Agency (BNA). Turkey, she, is now stronger more than ever, adding the authorities in Ankara controlled the situation and maintained security event at the peak of the crisis. "I was in Turkey at the time of the failed coup attempt and saw how things remained under control", she said, adding that her country succeeded in regaining normalcy. She stressed the challenges facing her country in fighting terrorist groups, including Da’esh, underscoring the importance for all countries to join ranks and combat the scourge of terror. She defended her country’s right to take the necessary measures against the putchists, accusing former Imam Fathullah Gulen, who is exiled in the United States, of masterminding the coup attempt. "Hundreds of pro-Gulen collaborators and participants have been apprehended and will be put on trial in compliance with the law", she said. She described the state of emergency as a precautionary measure to stave off challenges, stressing confidence in her country’s democracy, security and stability. She called on tourists to continue visiting her country, adding that Turkey still pursues its development projects unabated. "We are still open to all global markets, including the European Union", she said, stressing her country’s potential to attract investments thanks to its streamlined and business-friendly legislations.
