Turkey's biggest performance arts center will cost 300 million USD

ISTANBUL (A.A) - The "Performance Arts Center" being constructed at the Zorlu Center in Istanbul will be Turkey's biggest performance arts center. The center will open its doors at the end of 2012 and will be the venue for global musicals, concerts, theatrical performances, dance shows and art exhibitions. The new center will cost 300 million USD to construct and will have a seating capacity of 3,070. The center will be erected on a land of 50,000 square meters. Speaking to the AA, a member of the Executive Board of Zorlu Real Estate, Emre Zorlu, said that with the new center they would be able to show the importance they attached to arts. "We believe that the Performance Arts Center would be the most important and valuable part of the Zorlu Center," Zorlu said. A senior official of the Zorlu Real Estate, Mehmet Even, said that "it was through the development of arts that a society could progress. We look at the Performance Arts Center project as a social responsibility and thats why we support the project for Turkey."
