JEDDAH (A.A) - Turkey's foreign minister said on Wednesday that Turkey always stood by Syrian people. Ahmet Davutoglu expressed uneasiness over incidents in Syria and civilian loss, and said the incidents closely concerned the entire Middle East. "Turkey always stands by Syrian people," Davutoglu said during a ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Davutoglu said Turkey had many times recommended that Syria make reforms, however Syria did not take the recommendations into consideration. Turkey's borders would always be open to Syrian people, Davutoglu said. Davutoglu said what was happening in Syria was concerning, and the whereabouts of the detainees was unknown. "Syria should listen to its own people and tens of thousands of people in streets," he said. Davutoglu said Turkey had defended Syria as much as it could in different platforms, however it could not defend Syria against its own people as Turkey was always standing by Syrian people.
