Turkey's president expressed determination to fight against terrorism

ISTANBUL (A.A) - Turkish president said on Friday that Turkey would continue to counter terrorism with determination. President Abdullah Gul said terrorists were showing their most cruel face from time to time, and defined Thursday's bomb attack in Istanbul as such an effort. "Our nation should draw lessons from such attacks, and every one should understand well what fight against terrorism is," Gul told reporters. Gul said people should never have a sympathy for those who were involved in terrorism and were staging terrorism as terrorists could stage so cruel attacks against civilians downtown a city. On Thursday, a remote-control bomb was detonated in Istanbul's Beyoglu district, wounding 16 people. The bomb exploded when a vehicle carrying 21 police officers was passing by on Sutluce Imrahor Street, slightly injuring 16 police officers and a citizen.
