Turkish Ambassador Hails Qatar's Condemnation of Failed Coup Attempt

Doha, July 27 (QNA) - Turkish Ambassador to Qatar Ahmad Dimerok has commended Qatar's stance in support and solidarity with his country and its condemnation and denunciation of the failed coup attempt in Turkey on July 15. Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the ambassador said Turkey praises the stance of the leadership of Qatar, which was one of the first countries to announce solidarity with the constitutional legitimacy in Turkey and rejection of the coup attempt, stressing also the popular solidarity of the Qatari people through the different means. The Turkish ambassador said the Qatari-Turkish ties are very distinguished, pointing to the wide cooperation between the two countries on all fronts and underlining the Qatari support for constitutional legitimacy in Turkey and Ankara's legal measures to maintain the security and stability of Turkey and its people. He renewed gratitude to the wise leadership in Qatar as well as the Qatari government and people, adding that unlike many western media who were neither impartial nor transparent in their coverage, the Qatari media demonstrated professionalism in handling the events in Turkey. Addressing the economic repercussions of the failed coup attempt, the ambassador said the Turkish economy will not suffer indefinitely, adding that the foundations of the economy are strong and will remain that way as it was pre July 15.
