Turkish Ambassador pays courtesy call on Defense Minister

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, Mr Murat Karagoz paid a courtesy call on Minister of Defense, Mr B.Bat-Erdene on August 8. Turkey considers Mongolia as a trusted friend and close partner in the Eurasian region, noted the Ambassador and mentioned that defense sector is a strong pillar for Turkey-Mongolia relations. The assistance for the military technologies, backup and training will continue in frames of the Mongolia-Turkey finance cooperation, he said. Minister of Defense B.Bat-Erdene emphasized that Turkey is an important “third neighbor” for Mongolia, and expressed his satisfaction with growing defense ties with the Republic of Turkey and his confidence that as a country with strong economy Turkey will maintain its assistance and support for Mongolia. He informed that Mongolia is preparing to form an office of defense attache to Turkey. Ambassador Karagoz gave some update on the circumstances in Turkey after the coup attempt happened on July 15, to which the Minister of Defense stated that Mongolia will have faith in the legally and democratically formed rule of Government of Turkey. Last week, the Turkish Ambassador also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ts.Munkh-Orgil, and the sides have discussed about the Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries and exchanged opinions on the cooperation issues.
