Turkish ambassador welcomes beginning of THY flights to Somalia

MOGADISHU (A.A) - February 15, 2012 - Turkish Ambassador in Mogadishu Cemalettin Kani Torun welcomed Turkish Airlines' (THY) beginning flights to Somalia. Holding a press conference on Wednesday, Torun said that the flights would be for the interest of Somalia. Noting that THY would begin flights to Somalia in March, Torun said that the first flight would be held from Turkish Istanbul city to Somali capital Mogadishu on March 6. He added that the second flight would be held from Mogadishu to Istanbul on March 7. Torun said that flights would be held twice a week, adding that the number of flights could be increased according to the number of passengers. THY is the national flag carrier airline of Turkey, headquartered in Istanbul. It operates scheduled services to 150 international and 41 domestic cities (38 domestic airports), serving a total of 187 airports, in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
