Turkish ambassadress to Kosovo offers help after avalanche

PRISTINA (A.A) - February 13, 2012 - Turkish ambassadress in Pristina has said Turkey was ready to extend aid to the villagers affected by a massive avalanche in southern Kosovo over the weekend. "We are ready to make any contribution we can to help families recover from this saddening event," the Turkish Ambassadress in Pristina Songul Ozan told the Anadolu Agency. The avalanche that hit the remote mountain village of Restelica on Sunday killed 10 people.  A five-year-old girl was pulled alive from under the debris of their house ten hours after the avalanche. Search and rescue efforts were underway to find another missing person feared to have been trapped under the massive pile of snow.   Ozan said Turkish troops within the KFOR participated in the rescue efforts as well as distributing aid to the villagers.
