Turkish and Turkmen presidents inaugurate park in capital Ankara

ANKARA (A.A) - Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow attended inauguration ceremony of Turkmenistan Park and Turkmen poet Mahtumkulu's statue in Ankara on Wednesday. Gul said that Turkmenistan gained its independence 20 years ago, and Turkey was one of the first countries recognizing Turkmenistan. Gul expressed pleasure over being together with Berdimuhamedow during the 20th anniversary of establishing ties between Turkey and Turkmenistan. Earlier in the day, Gul decorated Berdimuhamedow with a state medal of honor, and they also signed several agreements between Turkey and Turkmenistan.
