Turkish Defense Minister Highlights Close Qatari-Turkish Ties

Doha, October 06 (QNA) - Qatar's hosting of IBF and the High Tech Port Fair reflect the close ties between Qatar and Turkey and provides a valuable platform for producers from both countries, Turkish Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul said in a speech during the opening ceremony. Gonul said Qatar has become a significant country in the Middle East as it underwent noticeable development in the past few years, proving its ability to settle conflicts in the region and has also developed its international ties to become a model in building mutual value and relations with different world countries. The Turkish official noted that Qatar and Turkey share common values in terms of culture and history and are united by their support for global peace and work within different efforts to strengthen peace in the region and all over the world. He hailed Doha's organization of the event as the first country to host it outside Turkey, noting that the event is a main meeting point that attracts advanced technologies that are manufactured in Turkey and shared with businessmen and investors in Qatar by bringing together a group of specialized companies in the different technological areas. Gonul said IBF is a helpful platform for constructive communication between MUSIAD and counterpart Qatari businessmen, expressing hope that the event will have a satisfactory outcome and create more fields of cooperation between participant companies and Qatari investors.
