Turkish economy minister says many countries envy for Turkish banks

MOSCOW (A.A) - Turkey's economy minister said on Friday that many countries envied for Turkish banks. Zafer Caglayan said Turkish banking system had saved itself from a structure giving the deposits it collected to the state in return for high amounts of money, thanks to the measures taken by the government. "Turkish banking system has become a structure giving loans, and envied by many countries," Caglayan said during the inauguration of Turkish Is Bankasi's branch in Moscow, Russia. This branch is the seventh Turkish bank opened in Russia so far. Caglayan said Turkey had received 105 billion USD of direct investments in the last eight years, and called on Russian banks to open branches in Turkey.   Economy Minister Caglayan will return to Turkey later on Friday.
