Turkish fm: Turkey-Israel relations not to get normalized until Israel apologizes

Istanbul (A.A) - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has said that Turkish-Israeli relations would not get normalized until Israel apologized to Turkey. Davutoglu told reporters on Friday that Israel should apologize, pay compensation to families of the Turkish citizens it killed, and end embargo on Gaza, otherwise relations between Turkey and Israel would not get normalized. Nine Turkish nationals were killed when Israeli commandos raided Mavi Marmara, the lead vessel in a six-ship Gaza-bound aid flotilla last year in May.    The raid has drawn widespread reaction and condemnation from the international community. The incident also sent Turkish-Israel relations to a historic low. Turkey recalled its ambassador to Israel, downsizing level of diplomatic relations to second-secretary. Turkey also cancelled all military agreements. Israel should decide to be a part of either the problem or the solution, said Davutoglu, adding that Israel was currently a part of the problem. Even in current condition, Israel pursues its settlement policy, said Davutoglu, and added that Turkey would react positively if Israel pursued a peace policy.
