Turkish lawmaker meets Italian senator

ROME (A.A) - Head of the Turkish Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee Volkan Bozkir on Tuesday met with Senator Lamberto Dini, the head of the Italian Senate's Foreign Relations and Migration Committee. Bozkir said today's meeting with the Italian senator took up issues such as Turkey's relations with the European Union as well as Syria, Libya and the Arab Spring.   Bozkir said Turkey's accession to the EU would ease Italy which he said "felt itself alone on the southern wing of the Union," adding that with Turkey's membership the southern wing would become much stronger. Bozkir and an accompanying delegation of Turkish parliamentarians are set to meet on Wednesday with Stefano Stefani, head of the Italian House of Representatives Foreign Relations Committee before leaving for Turkey.
