Turkish Official: Erdogan Invites Maliki To Visit Turkey

BAGHDAD / NINA / President of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Turkish parliament, Vulcan Bushker declared that he carries an invitation from Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to visit Turkey. Bushker said in a joint press conference with the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Iraqi House of Representatives, Homam Hamoudi that he will meet with Maliki today and deliver the invitation. He added: "The Turkish parliament speaker will visit Iraq soon to discuss bilateral relations and ways to develop them." For his part, Hamoudi said: "The purpose of Bushker's visit to Iraq is to restore relations between the two countries to normal, and the cooperation and coordination between the two countries in order to maintain security and stability in the region and facing crises." He added: "The visit also aims to work and stand together against sectarian calls, and to agree on non-interference in the internal affairs of both countries." / End
