Turkish president highlights importance of accomplishment of reform process in Tunisia

ANKARA (A.A) - Turkey's president underlined on Wednesday importance of accomplishment of reform and democratization process in Tunisia. President Abdullah Gul expressed belief that accomplishment of reform and democratization process in Tunisia was of utmost importance for not only peace and prosperity of Tunisian people but also peace and stability of the entire region.  "I will take up possible contributions Turkey can make to Tunisia's efforts to ensure democratic order and economic development during my talks with Tunisian executives," Gul told reporters before he flew to this country. President Gul said he believed his visit would boost bilateral relations and cooperation.  Gul will meet Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki, Parliament Speaker Mustapha Ben Jaafar, Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali, and discuss regional and international matters as well as bilateral relations.  President Gul will address young people at the Sadiki College, and deliver a speech at the Tunisian Parliament. Turkey was the first country to send its foreign minister to Tunisia after the Jasmine Revolution. Then, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited the country with a large delegation.  Tunisian Foreign Minister Rafik Abdussalem paid his first formal visit to Turkey.
