ANKARA (A.A) - December 9, 2011 - Turkish dailies mostly covered in their Friday's edition Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's recovery process, President Gul's statements aboard the plane en route to Austrian capital of Vienna, Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek's statements regarding inflation figures and Labor and Social Security Minister Faruk Celik's statements regarding severance pay. Hurriyet daily quoted Minister Mehmet Simsek as saying that rise in inflation figure which was nearing double digit took place because of tax increase in October. The daily said Simsek submitted 2012 budget to the parliament, saying that Turkish economy's performance was not a coincidence and Turkey has become a model country in combating economic crisis. Milliyet, Vatan and Zaman newspapers wrote about Premier Erdogan's recovery process. Milliyet daily quoted Prof. Mehmet Tuzun, who was one of doctors of Erdogan, said that the surgery lasted for three hours and his medical condition was perfect. Vatan quoted President Gul as saying, "I talked to Erdogan's doctors. His test results are good. There is no need to be concerned." Zaman daily also quoted Prof. Tuzun as saying that Erdogan was not cancer. Milliyet, Zaman, Sabah and Turkiye dailies wrote about President Gul's statement on its way to Vienna. Milliyet quoted Gul as saying that his views were clear on a law covering sports crimes he vetoed. The parliament was the lawmaker, he said. Turkiye newspaper quoted Celik as saying that severance pay would not be lifted and those who worked only one month would also able to get severance pay.
