Turkish Red Crescent to open a professional school in Somalia

ANKARA (A.A) - February 13, 2012 - Turkish Red Crescent will open a nursing and health care professional school in famine-stricken Somalia. Ahmet Lutfi Akar, director general of the aid organization, told AA correspondent that they would establish a nursing and health care school in Somali capital of Mogadishu to train health personnel. Turkish Red Crescent did not only send aid materials to Somalia but also aimed to give training to Somali people, he said. A great number of health personnel was needed in health sector in Somalia, he said. Akar said that a protocol has been signed for construction of the school which would begin to serve next year. The health care school will give training to 250 students, he said.
