Turkish relief association helps Syrian refugees in Jordan

ISTANBUL (A.A) – Turkish Human Rights & Freedoms (IHH) relief association has been helping Syrian citizens who escaped from their country and took shelter in Jordan. Association's executive board member Osman Atalay said on Wednesday that they had been helping Syrians in Jordan for the last ten days, adding that 85,000 Syrians took shelter in Jordan. Atalay noted that some of the Syrians were trying to sneak into Lebanon illegally to get medical treatment. He said that there were nearly 500 wounded Syrians who should receive treatment urgently in Lebanon. Noting that a site had not been established for the Syrian refugees in Jordan yet, Atalay said that nearly 3,500 Syrian families needed constant help. Atalay added that IHH had been helping those refugees intensively for the last ten days, and said that refugees' need for food and health was met only by non-governmental organizations and philanthropists in Jordan.
