Two Local Tourists Drowned One Missing In Pelabuhan Ratu

Sukabumi, W Java, Aug 22 (ANTARA) - Two local tourists were drowned and one missing feared dead when swimming in the sea off Palabuhanratu, West Java, on Tuesday. One of the dead victims, Dewi (19), was still alive when dragged ashore but not long after she died after emergency treatment at a local hospital. The other dead victim was Kiki (11) and the one still missing was Heru (19) . They belong to a group of holidaymakers including Fahmi (11) and Desi (15) who were also swept to the sea by the Indian ocean waves but they were saved by local rescue team. Head of the local search and rescue agency Okih Fajri Assidiqie said tourists had been warned not too swim too far to the sea and a black flag was raised as a mark of dangerous area. Pelabuhan Ratu has been swarmed with tourists mainly local Muslim holidaymakers celebrating Idul Fitri, the end of the Islamic fasting month. At least two million people visited Pelabuhan Ratu in the past three days, Erik, the spokesman of the Sukabumi tourism office said.
