Two men arrested, heroin seized

LAMPANG, May 8 (TNA) - Combined police and army personnel have arrested two men on alleged charges of possessing 15.5 kilogrammes of heroin. The police said the seized heroin was found hidden under agricultural produce on a truck which was travelling on a highway in the northern province of Lampang. Police and army personnel searched the truck at a checkpoint on Saturday night and found the seized drug had the street value of about 15 million baht. The 26-year-old driver and his younger brother have been detained for interrogation. The duo said they were hired by a trader in Chiang Mai to send the agricultural produce to a person in Ratchaburi province. They were paid 9,000 baht but denied knowing about the illegal drug. (TNA)
