Two M'sian IS Members Linked To Beheading Of Captive - Police

KUALA LUMPUR, March 4 (Bernama) -- Two Malaysians linked to the so-called IS militant group activities in Syria were believed to have been involved in the beheading of a Syrian captive. Bukit Aman Special Branch Counter-Terrorism Division principal assistant director SAC Ayub Khan Mydin Pitchay said the duo featured in a video had been identified. This followed a 30-second video recording which was uploaded in a Facebook page on Feb 22. "The individual who recorded the video is a 20-year-old man from Gurun, Kedah who left for Syria on Sept 23, while the other beside the beheaded body is from Durian Tunggal, Melaka who left for Syria on Jan 26 and was the FB account holder," Ayub Khan told reporters here Wednesday. The video recording shows a Syrian man beheaded by an Arab man after being charged as a Syrian Government spy. "The video is also the first video recording we obtained which showed the presence of Malaysians in the incident...the Facebook page owned by the said individual was found to be still active. -- BERNAMA
