Two police cadets killed in parachute jump

PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, THAILAND, March 31 (TNA) - Two police cadets of Royal Police Cadet Academy (RPCA) died during a parachute training on Monday. According to the National Police Operation Center, the accident occurred during an annual parachute training at the Airborne Support Division of the Border Patrol Police Bureau, or Naresuan Camp, in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The two second-year cadets of Class 69 fell to their deaths after their parachute lines snapped and the chutes failed to open. The two other cadets who faced the same situation, however, managed to each pull reserved parachutes and landed safely. National Police Chief Police General Adul Saengsingkaew visited the injured cadets at the Border Patrol Police Bureau’s Airborne Support Division, before traveling farther South to attend the funeral of two police killed in a bomb attack last Sunday in Narathiwat Province.(TNA)
