BANGKOK, June 7 (TNA) - Two South Korean men have been arrested and charged of illegally opened an online gambling website at their rented condominium in the heart of Bangkok, said Bangkok police commander Pol. Lt. Gen. Srivara Rangsibrahmanakul. Accompanied by senior police officers, Pol. Lt. Gen. Srivara told a press conference that police also seized six desktop computers, five telephones, three machines for transferring South Korean currency won through internet and more than 30,000 baht in cash from their possession. Both men denied the charges, said Pol. Lt.Gen. Srivara, adding that they had told police that they used computers for their work. However, they admitted that they had no work permit to work in the kingdom. Several South Koreans were arrested in Bangkok last week and were charged of illegally operating online gambling websites. Two arrests made on June 1 and June 3 have prompted transfers of senior police officers at two police stations in the capital for negligence of duty to inactive posts. (TNA)
