UAE pleased with expanding cooperation with Thailand

BANGKOK, May 11 (TNA) - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expressed the country's appreciation to expanding ties and cooperation with Thailand in various areas, including trade, investment and tourism. New UAE Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Saif Abdullah Mohammed Al Shamsi mentioned the expanding bilateral cooperation, especially in health tourism, when he paid a courtesy on Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister General Tanasak Patimapagorn at the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok on Monday. General Tanasak congratulated the UAE ambassador on his appointment to the Thai Kingdom and confirmed his support for the newly-appointed UAE top envoy's mission in Thailand. The Thai deputy premier and foreign minister also thanked UAE for a warm welcome to a Thai delegation in February 2015, when two agreements were also signed between the two countries, including those on investment promotion and protection and security cooperation. Besides, the Thai deputy prime minister and foreign minister, conveyed, through the new top envoy, his invitation to the UAE Foreign Minister to visit Thailand later this year to co-chair the first meeting of a joint UAE-Thailand commission on economic, trade and academic cooperation and to attend joint activities organised to celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between UAE and Thailand.
