UAE RCA launches US$1m emergency relief operation for Syrians in Lebanon

Beirut: The Red Crescent Authority (RCA) of the UAE has launched a US$1 million emergency relief operation to help Syrian refugee families in Lebanon during snow storms and low temperatures. Some fifteen thousand families are targeted by the RCA operation. RCA's aid operation saw the distribution of food packages, wool blankets and winter clothes to families in refugee camps in Arsal, Balabak and other areas in the Bekaa Valley. Beneficiaries thanked the leadership, government and people of the UAE for the emergency assistance, which they said came just in time to meet their basic needs and alleviate their suffering in the winter weather. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
