UB City to make 427 billion MNT purchase this year

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ “Ulaanbaatar Procurement-2016” forum was held January 20 at Shangri-La hotel in Ulaanbaatar. Over a thousand delegates took part, including citizens’ representatives, local administrators, members of the Ulaanbaatar Chamber of Commerce, international organization representatives, national wealthmakers and investors. Key presentations were themed “City of Ulaanbaatar–Investment 2016”, “Green Procurement”, “Public and Private Partnership”, “Friendly Ulaanbaatar Program”, “Arbitrary Services at the Ulaanbaatar Chamber of Commerce”, “Eco-park project for improving city waste management”, “Eco-Ulaanbaatar”, “Capital city procurement on concession”, “Ulaanbaatar City Development Corporation and PPP” and “Private sector involvement in city housing projects”. Capital city is making investments of 427 billion MNT this year, said N.Bataa, a deputy mayor in charge of finance and economy, of which 203.5 billion will be financed from Ulaanbaatar’s budget, 120 billion--from the Development Bank of Mongolia (DB), and 103.4 billion--from the state and local budgets. Financings will be dedicated to works such as building of 53 kindergartens, 26 schools, 42 primary schools and children’s complexes, overhaul maintenance of schools and kindergartens, building of 100-bed health center, 200-bed children’s hospital, an ambulance unit, 100-bed maternity hospital and purchasing of 10 ambulance trucks. Over 100 billion MNT will go to urban development, road and transportation. Mayor E.Bat-Uul emphasized that the administration is putting effort on promoting private sector. For instance, he said, the UB City is interested in signing 100-year renting agreement in cases that private sector builds the sub-centers of Ulaanbaatar with the basic green facilities, schools and kindergartens.
