UK to support Thailand on national reforms

BANGKOK, October 1 (TNA) - The United Kingdom has offered to assist Thailand on national reforms, citing its experiences on several sectors. Thai Foreign Ministry Spokesman Sek Wannamethee, who is also Director-General of the ministry's Department of Information, told journalists that Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai held bilateral talks in New York on September 30 with British Foreign Office Minister Hugo Swire, who offered the support. The spokesman said Swire told Don, at their meeting on the sidelines of the 70th United Nations General Assembly, that the UK government has experiences in several sectors, including corruption suppression and transparent bids on investment projects. According to the spokesman, UK is also interested in dispatching English language instructors to help train Thai people. (TNA)
