ULAANBAATAR AND ASAHIKAWA WILL COOPERATE

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The capital city of Mongolia Ulaanbaatar with co-implement a project on improving a quality control over construction and repairing works of roads in cold regions together with Japan’s Asahikawa city. A related cooperation memorandum was signed Thursday by Mr E.Bat-Uul, the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, and by Mr Nishikawa Masahito, the governor of Asahikawa city. This project will be realized in frames of the “Grass Root” program implemented by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Within the project, the sides will exchange experiences in the road sector of cold regions and will train state administrative officials of the two cities, exchange experiences and methodologies, and strengthen a mutual understanding. At the meeting after the signing ceremony, Mr Masahito expressed a satisfaction with meeting with the UB Mayor and said our city has developed more since his visit four years ago. He also hopes that the cities will enhance the ties. Mr Bat-Uul noted that the sides have been cooperating in re-planning of ger areas and thanked the Japan’s city for contributing to the development of Ulaanbaatar. He also hopes that the bilateral collaboration will intensify.
