ULAANBAATAR AND ASIA FOUNDATION EXPAND COOPERATION

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian delegation headed by the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar E.Bat-Uul met the president of the Asia Foundation David D.Arnold on December 15 in San Francisco, the USA. The delegation is paying a working visit there. The foundation briefly spoke about the project being implement in Ulaanbaatar in purposes of improving the citizens’ living standards, their access to and quality of the public services, and refining upon the urban development, particularly the re-structuring of ger (national dwellings) districts. The sides exchanged opinions on expanding a scope of these projects and inked the memorandum of cooperation. They intend to jointly continue a project on designing of khoroos (administrative unit in a city) in frames of the ger districts' re-structuring, to improve citizens’ participation in the project, to develop Ulaanbaatar Economic Development Strategy, to refine waste management, to combat a corruption, and to strengthen a transparency.
