Ulaanbaatar to become smart city in 2020

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Ulaanbaatar city aims to become a smart city by 2020 by introducing all criteria of smart cities. It was reported by the city's administration on Monday. A programme called "Smart city" will be implemented to create a healthy and safe environment, to improve the livelihood of people, to increase a sufficiency of state service, and to support a civil participation in the state policies. Within the programme, a research team with experts started last year to study chances to introduce the "Smart city" criteria. It is considered that the programme will give people opportunities to obtain online the state information and news, and will make the state service more transparent. As of today, some 500 cities in the world have introduced the "Smart city" criteria.
