UN chief informed of Thailand's political updates

BANGKOK, April 3 (TNA) - United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has been informed of Thailand's political updates so far. Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul told journalists of the information on Thursday, cautioning if an interim prime minister was appointed in Thailand, it would draw special attention from the world community. Surapong also warned that Thailand could be in turmoil unless independent organizations guaranteed justice for all. Surapong made the remarks, as Bangkok's Constitutional Court will soon rule on the status of Caretaker Prime Minister and Defence Minister Yingluck Shinawatra in relation to her past transfer of Thawil Pliensri from the position of the National Security Council (NSC) secretary-general. The Supreme Administrative Court recently ruled that the transfer was unlawful. The caretaker deputy prime minister pointed out if an interim and unconstitutional prime minister was appointed, the red-shirt, pro-government movement might lay siege to government offices, like what anti-government protesters are doing, denying he was threatening the Constitutional Court.
