UN High Representative for Alliance of Civilizations to visit Azerbaijan

Baku, April 15 (AzerTAc). UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser will visit Azerbaijan to participate in the second World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue to be held in Baku from May 29-June 1, under the auspices of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser was the UN General Assembly president from 2011 to 2012. A memorandum of understanding is planned to be signed between Azerbaijan and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations during the visit. UN Alliance of Civilizations has been a partner of the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, held at Azerbaijan`s initiative since 2011. According to the Azerbaijani President`s decree dated May 27, 2011, the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue is held in Baku every two years. The Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Ministry has the function of coordinating the event.
