UN Special Representative for Disaster Risk Reduction Robert Glasser on visit

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Robert Glasser, Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction and heads the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction is visiting Mongolia. The visit coincides with the 2017 United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (ISDR) Asia Partnership (IAP) meeting, which is being held in Ulaanbaatar on April 05-07. The Government of Mongolia is co-organizing the meeting in cooperation with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR). Robert Glasser has been working as Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction since January 2016 and was Deputy Director-General of the Australian Government's Aid Program and Executive Director of CARE Australia in 2017. During his visit in Mongolia, R.Glasser will hold a meeting with U.Khurelsukh, Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia. The dignitaries are going to sign a statement of cooperation and will conduct a joint press conference to give information to the media. On April 6, R.Glasser will be meeting with Prime Minister of Mongolia J.Erdenebat, Minister of Environment, Green Development and Tourism D.Oyunkhorol, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Welfare S.Mungunchimeg, Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar S.Batbold and representatives of the UN organizations in Mongolia. His visit in Mongolia will conclude on April 7.
