Undersecretary of Foreign Ministry Meets Indian Ambassador

BAGHDAD / NINA / Undersecretary of Foreign Ministry for Legal Affairs and multiple parties' relations, Omar Barzanji met with the Indian Ambassador, Ajay Kumar and discussed with him bilateral relations and ways of developing them to serve the interests of the two friendly countries. A statement of the Foreign Ministry quoted Barzanji as saying during the meeting: that the Iraqi society influenced by the Indian culture, stressing the need to speed up granting visas to Iraqi students applying to study in India and resolve the problem of graduate students enrolled in Indian universities to enable them to catch up with the academic year in addition to facilitate the granting of visas to the Iraqis wishing to be treated in India. For his part, the Indian ambassador promised to complete the papers of the students, especially applicants for postgraduate studies. The statement noted that "a number of visas have been granted, after the meeting, to the students wishing to study in India and accomplish most of their papers. / End
