Undersecretary receives Nepalese ambassador

Manama, June 9 (BNA): Labour and Social Development’s Undersecretary, Sabah Salim Al-Dossari, has received Nepal’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Bahrain, Padam Sundas, with whom he discussed labour issues. Al-Dossari informed the ambassador about the Labour and Social Development Ministry’s role in securing ensuring workers’ rights, and providing all aspects of legal and legislative protection in order to ensure a sustainable, safe and secure work environment at various public and private institutions. The undersecretary stressed the Labour Ministry’s keenness on developing national legislation to consolidate workers’ gains, lauding the contributions of the Nepalese expatriate community, and their constructive participation in the various production sectors in the kingdom. The Nepalese envoy highlighted Bahrain’s care and advanced labour laws that meet international standards, as well as the secure and safe work environment it provides. He lauded the care and interest enjoyed by the Nepalese expatriate community in the kingdom.
