"Underwater" festival kicks off in Trang

TRANG, THAILAND, September 16 (TNA) - An annual festival under the theme of “Underwater World” has started in Trang Province in the Thai South, which has been renowned for public safety, among others, aimed at promoting local tourism and economy. Trang Governor Somsak Parisuttho opened the Colours of Trang Festival at the Phermsuk Public Park in Muang District on September 15. Trang is an Andaman coastal province, which played important roles in international trade in former times, as it was a transport center of the Thai South and possesses unique identities, traits, cultures, simple lifestyle, natural beauties on land and in the sea, delicious food and safety, all are strong selling points to help promote tourism and businesses in the southern Thai province effectively. During the ongoing Colours of Trang Festival, local areas are illuminated with the concept of "Under Water World" to attract international tourists. About 90 exhibits representing marine life are also on display during the one-month festival, from September 15-October 15. (TNA)
