Baku, May 1 (AzerTAc). The UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Working Group has held an interactive dialogue on Azerbaijan within its 16th session. According to Azerbaijan`s Permanent Mission to the United Nations Office, the meeting featured discussions on Azerbaijan`s 2nd periodic review presented to the working group. Azerbaijani deputy FM Khalaf Khalafov delivered a report at the event. He stressed that the Azerbaijani government attached great importance to the cooperation with the UNHRC. The deputy FM gave an insight into the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and stressed that about one million refugees and IDPs emerged in Azerbaijan as a result of the military aggression and the occupation of 20 percent of the country`s land by the Armenian armed forces. The Armenian occupation is a main problem in provision of human rights. Khalaf Khalafov also spoke about the National Action Plan, struggle against corruption and establishment of the ASAN service in Azerbaijan. In his final speech, Khalafov expressed Azerbaijan`s interest in cooperation with UPR and international community and called the international organizations to support Azerbaijan`s just position.
