UNRWA: U.A.E. leads the way in supporting Palestinians

Abu Dhabi (WAM): A top United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) official has praised U.A.E.'s unlimited support to the Palestinian people, saying the first response for the appeal to rebuild Gaza following the Israeli aggression came from the U.A.E. Red Crescent Authority (RCA). UNRWA's spokesman Adnan Abu Hasna said in an interview with Abu Dhabi TV yesterday that the Sheikh Zayed City was the first integrated residential enclave to be built in Gaza for the past 60 years. He added that the current attacks destroyed 35 apartments in the city and forced 90 percent of residents there to move. "The UNRWA signed an agreement with RCA for the reconstruction of Gaza. We are anticipating a complete ceasefire in Gaza to begin the project, thanks to the generous Emirati grant," he said.
