UoB, Lancaster University co-organize workshop

Manama: March 31 – (BNA): The University of Bahrain (UoB) recently organized the second specialized international training course in financial reports reading and analysis. The workshop was organized by UoB's Zain E-Learning Centre in association with Lancaster University. Directors, heads of departments from government ministries and institutions attended the course presented by Lancaster University's financial accountancy Professor Damien Tracy. The Centre's Director Dr. Mustafa Al-Abbasi said that reliant upon the directives and encouragement on the part of UoB's President Dr. Ibrahim Janahi, the Centre plans to host more workshops and specialized training courses in collaboration with Lancaster University in the foreseeable future. Education Ministry, University of Bahrain, Works Ministry, Interior Ministry, Social Development Ministry, and Bahrain Polytechnic also participated in the workshop. UoB's Advisor for E-Learning and Information Technology, Dr. Shaikha Eshaa bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, said that executive directors in possession of skills that enable them to take the right decisions is an important issue for any organization or institution. She added that this workshop helps directors reading and analysis of financial reports in order to be able to take appropriate decisions on the basis of accurate analysis. (IY)
